We get our gems back at release!

They just said in the dev blog that while they are still going to wipe characters and gems, they’re going to keep track of how many gems each account bought, and we’ll get them back on the 28th.

Hopefully this also applies to the free gems (in which case I have to actually get the damn things this time around…), and if it does, that means we can actually get some cool stuff for having participated in the betas.

Yet another reason why ANet rules.

After reading the dev blog post, it seems to apply to gems that you actually buy from the shop. It’s pretty much saying that you can start spending your money now and whatever amount you spend (actually money), you will have it at release. An example being, if I spent $30 USD during this weekends beta, I’ll have that $30 in my account at release
